2003 Subaru Outback H6 P0507 & P0519 problem solved

Featured Replies

Figured I would post this in case someone has an H6 with the same issue and has already replaced or cleaned IAC

2003 Subaru Outback H6 w/ 264,000 Miles

Idle was running a bit high in park (1200rpm) it gradually got worse and eventually idle started hunting in park and then in drive, as well as running high.

Cleaned IAC, no change, Replaced with known used working IAC no change.

Issue ended up being EGR that was plugged soild of carbon buildup. After EGR was cleaned and new gaskets installed everything is now back to normal.

I wonder... was this H6 run regularly on 87 octane?

I purchased the car with 120,000 miles and it now has 264,000 miles, mostly city driving in the 7 years I've had the car. I have always run 91 octane since I've had the car
