Links to EA81 posts

Recommended Posts

So I've spent a little over an hour trying to find some old posts.

There was one about doing a brake swap to rear discs on the ea81. Hoping it works for my 83 gl wagon.

And there was another from the guy with the bumblebeast that was about different swaps for suspension and drive train.

I pulled my rear tire off the wagon to look at the bearings. It was completely empty! No drum parts... The brake line wasn't even hooked up!!!

So instead of putting drums back on it I wanna swap the rear hub for something like a 5 stud and I wouldn't mind swapping the rear shocks out for something better.

Anyone have those links on hand or know of some good search terms for me to find em?

Yes, here it is: ~► http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/topic/106807-improved-shock-absorbers-and-spring-coils-on-loyales/

But it is regarding the Third Gen Leone / EA82 only, Not for the Second Gen / EA81.

You're welcome.  :)

Don't forget to retrofit the EA82's Proportioning valve,

in case you do a Rear Disc Brakes' Swap on your EA81:

Kind Regards.

I'm trying to work in the lug conversion with the brake swap!  I would not mind somehow matching a ford 9 inch rear end with the axles coming out to a ford hub/brake on the rear.   I will just use duct tape and lots of JB weld haha!

Really it looks like I can get all the brake parts brand new from an auto parts store. It's all parts from a 1986 Subaru GL-10 Turbo 4WD

Do you happen to know if the shocks for the rear are the same too?   I'm sure it would not be too difficult to weld a mount on the top end as long as the bottom bolts up.
