July 1, 201510 yr Author I need some help with this i just want to know if i have to get a new trany thanks
July 1, 201510 yr Is the AT TEMP light lit on the dash? Does it flash 16 times when you start the car? That's the diagnostic light for the transmission, it's possible to have that flash the trouble codes so you can figure out what's wrong. I can't remember how to do it, but there's a thread in the USRM.
July 1, 201510 yr suggest you check the transmission fluid level on the dip stick. When was the last time you changed transmission fluid?? Not sure fluid level will fix your problem, but it is a good start.
July 1, 201510 yr Author Well the trasmisión fluid is goot i changed it 4 months ago the light for the transmission temperature does not como on. Well i dont think is electrical because it doesn't engage in drive and wen i go true the gears manually it work but is slipping on 3 gear up untill it gets up to speed and dont slip no more
July 2, 201510 yr So you changed the fluid 4 months ago and haven't checked it since? If you have a leak you could be down by 3 quarts and that could be causing your problem..............................
July 2, 201510 yr Seriously, just check your fluid. It takes a couple of minutes. Just because you don't see a drip doesn't mean it isn't leaking occasionally, or specifically while under pressure while driving.
July 2, 201510 yr Author Ok that's the first thing i did i checked the atf flyid and is ok is full and fresh it only engages in 1 and 2 and its like wen i put it in 2 is in 2 it dont go to 1 and then 2 is like manualy there but its slipping on 3 and 4 at low sppeds
July 2, 201510 yr Are you checking the fluid properly? Warm it up, cycle through all the gear positions, then leave the transmission in park. Check the oil in a level position with the engine running.
