Free CarFax: less then 2 days left

Featured Replies

I'm the second owner of my subie, and Carfax showed only one owner. Maybe you have to take this info with a grain of salt, just like everything else.

ya, some cats over at NASIOC were talking about this. A few of them ran VINs of vehicles that had been in accidents, totaled, etc.. all had been reported yet they didn't show up on the carfax check.. so, ya.. CARFAX isn't 100 % reliable..

So if a car can be totaled and not show up on Carfax, can a car be fine and Carfax show it as being in an accident?

Generally if a car is in a major event it gets a salvage or rebuilt title. Is there anyway for someone to take a slavage/rebuilt title and get a clean title for it?

I ran a Carfax on mine and it shows that it had two owners and it was sold to a dealer and I bought it at the auction very recently. All good.

Cool, free carfax info is still active!! I just ran a car that I posted in the Marketplace forum.

I just ran mine, and while there's a few interesting things in there, it looks all good. Too bad my subbie needs some work, and me with no $$.

As to cleaning a title, supposedly, that's fairly easy, by a car with a salvage title in one state, and register it in another state, supposedly it'll just show clean at that point.
