This is my first time buying an older car that needs parts.  I am having limited success finding parts for '79 and was wondering which years and models I can also look at for parts?

1978-1981 with some exceptions (i.e. water pump)

Above info true for Brats.

 

For wagons you need a Stage II 1977 thru 1979

 

Stage I 1977 is the leftover body style from 74-76. You don't need that era.
