Car bucks and surges on acceleration, wont' go over 30 mph.  I'm also getting the rotten egg smell and had a P0420 several months ago.  Could this be a plugged cat converter?  Thanks.

Could be due to jumped timing. Cyls 1&3 are both passenger side.

I started it after it had cooled down for several hours and it ran fine.  It surged at idle before, now it was smooth.  Thats why I wondered if the catcon was blocked and heating up??

vacuum gauge might confirm exhaust blockage. you can search for a chart of stuff it can help with.

 

could be a weak fuel pump or something with fuel?

 

how many miles since the timing belt system was serviced?
