A vacuum leak will cause a rough idle.  There are a couple of dohickeys on top of the engine that are connected to the vacuum system.  The nipples on those dohickeys can break off real easy and make f

  • The car is running well, still a little hesitation around 2500-3500 rpms. But it's an improvement for sure. I just need to go to an exhaust shop now, then I can really get it dialed in.

Found this while reading today:

I found the tps in this post for about $260 at autozone. So just to be sure I'll be doing this right, I need to de-solder the stock connector on the harness. Then clip the square connection off the sensor, and solder the wires from the connector to the stock harness?

I bought that tps, itll be here by 3 today. After I get it soldered on and figure out how to adjust it I'll report back.

Well that was a success. I cut the connector off the new TPS, and the connector off the stock harness then soldered everything together. The car drove better on my test run than it has the entire time I've had it. The only difference between the 2 was the new TPS has a white wire instead of a green wire like the stock harness has. If anyone is looking for a new TPS, it's part # TPS4085.
