Dolly-towing a 4EAT

Featured Replies

Have to bring a 99 Legacy Outback automatic to the junkyard, can only get a dolly. Car has no engine. I know these have the duty C (or something like that) solenoid that makes it FWD only. Do I have to do anything to tow it with the dolly? Anything easier than disconnecting rusty driveshafts? Thanks!

Sawzall?

The duty C doesn't do anything if the car is off.

It's going to the junkyard, doesn't really matter what happens to the trans by dragging it around on a dolly.

Yank the driveshaft from the rear diff. Like 4 bolts. Then hang it with a clothes hanger, or pull it and chuck it inside. Thats only if you really give a crap about the yard being able to sell the trans later

I'd just tow it, but if you care about the transmission for some reason pull the four driveshaft bolts
