Hi. I read the "Unofficial how to lift your impreza" thread and it said 03-08 forester struts will fit 02-07 imprezas, but will 98 forester struts fit on my 02 impreza without modification??

Yes they'll bolt right in. 98-08 forester, 02-07 impreza, and 95-99 legacy/outback, all have the same bolt pattern for their struts.

Thanks for the info guys! So for the rear do I have to get different top hats? I'd rather not drill a new hole in the chassis if I font have to
