I am looking for a simple answer to a simple question. Can i use the throttle body from a 1996 2.5 on a 1997 2.2? Both are EGR, and both have the IAC on the side of the intake.

Yes, it will bolt right up.  Make sure the vac lines on the top are the same.  If so you are good.
