March 1, 201610 yr Now that the Scion brand will, thankfully, be discontinued, the FRS will become a Toyota. In my opinion this can only enhance the FRS. Apologies to any Scion fans out there but having the Scion logo on the car made it less desirable. Some folks of course don't care about such things. Thoughts?
April 29, 20169 yr I don't know. That'd be about like not loving your wife anymore because she changed her name from Sarah to Tracy. Its still the same girl just a different name isn't it?
May 1, 20169 yr Author Well if you were dating before she was your wife and had a choice of her being named Globnik or Sarah, which one would you prefer?
May 23, 20169 yr Remember what happened when Datsun became Nissan ? (or Nee-san as the US guys pronounce it). Big sales drop b/c of the money and goodwill in the Datsun brand.
May 26, 20169 yr Plenty of goodwill and money in the Toyota brand. It's a consolidation, not a re-launch of a new brand. Scion was meant to be down-market from Toyota as a cheap entry level car, so if the models are moved across to the Toyota badge arguably they will gain prestige. Bunch of marketing hooey anyhow.
