Can I fit a 2010 legacy automatic transmission on a 2002 Forester. What would be the differences. 

I am no expert on transmissions but IMO the electronics that control it are probably different.

No.. 2010 and newer ( at least ) Legacy transmissions are CVT. It would bolt in but you would not have the electronics to control it
