New guy, in Portland Oregon, with a first gen brat

Featured Replies

Hey everyone! I just picked up a 1980 Brat GL.

I've wanted a first gen brat for years, and the right one finally came up for a price I could afford.

It needs a pretty thorough going through, but will be my daily soon. When I'm not riding my 74' BMW R75 that is.

I look forward to becoming part of the classic subaru community out here in the PNW.

I'll buy the beers if you wanna come over and help turn some wrenches!

Saw this thing on Instagram. One of my favorite original 1st gens. Has the cool (IMO) camper, too!

Enjoy it. Sounds like you already are.

Welcome to the forum!

Saw this one and the red one with dual carbs on craigslist. Just curious why you didn't get the one with dual carbs? I take it that it has more rust.

I figured I would probably put a weber on it eventually, so the single carb intake made more sense. Also this one was a little cleaner, less rust, less missing parts, etc.  I already have a list going of things I need ha
