I'm on my third set of plug wires. My '83 Turbo is completely stock.

 

First set was Iridiums from Rockauto, two were WAY too long and coil wire was wrong.

Second set was Duralast, two were WAY too short and coil wire was too short.

Now NGK's from Rockauto, two are too short, two are two long and coil wire is about, oh I don't know, 1/3 the length it should be.

 

Can somebody give me any info on what I'm doing wrong, or give me a part number of what they buy?

I bought these recently and the lengths weren't perfect but they worked: Standard Motor Products 9488

You keep getting ones for ea82's or ea82t's. if you get a set for a ea81 all the wires would be right besides the coil since it would be too short. When i replaced a set on ea81t wagon i had to piece together 2 sets of ngk's.

Yeah if you look at the photo, the wire to the far left is the coil wire. To what motor I have no idea. Definitely not ours tho.

So if I'm not able to search under my engine online or at the parts store, what info should I give? I don't mind piecing together two sets, but I don't even know which sets or car info to give to get 5 right sized wires. Thanks for telling me that you had to put two sets together. At least I know that's something I may have to do.

Weird. I get the premium wires from NAPA (Balkamp) for my '84 and they're spot on. EA81 turbo and N/A are the same wires so....
