There are small scuffs on the tops side of the piston skirt but other then that they seem to be fine. Should I bother replacing them? Cylinders look like new.... 86BRATMAN Posted April 27, 2016 Share Posted April 27, 2016 I've not seen any stock replacement phase 2 ej22 pistons on the market. Only thing available is oem, and they are not cheap. ccrinc Posted April 27, 2016 Share Posted April 27, 2016 They're all over ebay. Also, NPR is the co. which makes them for Subaru. We've always used them and they are top quality. OTOH, Mahle brand make our head builder just go nuts: they're impossible to work with. However, with your description, I'd just re-use them. Put them back in the cylinders they were in originally. Only place I would consider pistons other than the dealer would be a custom order from one of the performance piston makers like Wiseco.
