PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HELP ME !

Featured Replies

alright please someone help me out!! i have a 99 legacy sus limited 30th anniversary 2.5, well to start out i am having trouble with ALOT and i cannot for th life of me figure out whats wrong and soon I am just going to drive it into a lake!!!

whats going on: when staring on coldstart idles fine and warms up good (most of the time) but sometimes it idles high then low, and the heating control lights flicker (sometimes). when i accelerate it seems to shake not to bad but you can for sure feel it then some times it drives fine and does not shake at all.... it also pulls (sometimes). it also every once in a wile seems to rev up when pressing on gas and doesn't really want to move, getting very shitty gas millage to...

what I did/replaced

-plugs and wires

-temp sensor and thermostat

-brakes and rotors

-fuel pump

-checked for vacuum leaks

-checked tranny fluid

-ran seafoam threw it

-oil and filter change

-replaced ground wires for battery

-clean mas air flow sensor and throttle body

Okay I'm going to break this down

#1 cold start idle fluctuation

I would pull and clean idle air control valve.

#2 heating control lights flickering.

Common issue the solder points on the back of the HVAC controls crack and cause intermittent problems.

#3 sounds like torque bind, search this forum for torque bind.

First things I would do is make sure all four tires are matching size, tread wear and pattern.

Check trans fluid level/condition

Do you have any flashing lights?

Also there should be a fuse holder labled FWD on the pasenger side strut tower. If you put a fuse in it the trans will default into front wheel drive and should alleviate any torque bind issues.

I'm not positive that your model/year has this fuse though some did, bit some didn't either.

i did check the fluid in trains actually looks really good, tires are all the same size/ rear right tire seems to be wearing on the inner side all others seem to be fine. as for the lights flashing i do not have any on.. but thank you for your input much appreciated

does the check engine light work?
read the codes - it's possible to have a pending code and no check engine light on the dash.

how long have you owned this vehicle?

you're saying that a fuse is installed in the FWD fuse holder?

if so - there is not supposed to be a fuse in that holder - i'd remove that fuse and see what happens.

the heating control lights is very common due to the silly placement of the drink holders right underneath the heating controls.  the buttoms, lights, and controller are often damaged from spills sometime during the past 17 years of life.

I would try putting the fwd fuse in and see if your symptoms go away.

Make sure the FWD light comes on on the dash. If it doesn't that might indicate a duty c malfunction.
