My '08 Outback scissor jack failed (bent). Will the scissor jacks from other Subarus work? The local junk yards have some Subarus with jacks but no Outbacks.

Used jacks on EBAy for '05-09 Outbacks are about $75 bucks, but some Forester jacks are less than $30.

For that price you can get a 2 ton Bottle jack from a store. About $30 bucks.

Thanks. but want a scissors jack that has a slit that won't bend the  rail on underside of the car,

Interchangeable for the most part. You have to match suspension height. Some like your OB will have a riser on the pinch joint part.making the jack taller

i would think a Forester jack would work fine as they generally sit about the same height as an Outback
