Use to take 4 pumps of the petal to get the motor started. Now it's about 8 pumps. Runs terrific once started and is getting 31mpg. Do you think the fuel pump may be tired? What's would be the best pick form a replacement. Thanks Bart

I'm assuming this is a stock Ea81 with a Hitachi carb. If it runs great once started, I doubt it's the pump. Check the cold idle adjustment screw. Also check BOTH fuel filters. Especially the one right by the pump.
