I was wondering what this thing does and what kind of vacumm it recieves e.g. only when it accelerating or after a certain temperature is reached.

it let's air into the manafold when decelerating. it's either for better gas mileage or to prevent backfiring or both. and i think it's why my car has been backfiring since i put a weber on.
