'86 GL vent

Featured Replies

Why is there constant cold air [ambient temp] blowing in my dash vents [above radio]?  Even when the heat/def is pushed to off.  If I have the heat on but no blower, it still has cold air entering the car.

The vent itself had a thin layer of foam on it.  Foam disintegrates with time, leaving a gap at the vent opening.

Ok, no easy fix I assume?  Just tape it off for the winter?

To really fix it, you have to remove the dash. Then the heater box. Then disassemble to get to the flaps.

Thats what I figured.  Not worth doing on this rig, I'll improvise.

Thanks for the input!
