February 11, 20179 yr Hey all, My EA71 with weber has been running pretty lean. Lean enough that its tough to start once its been sitting for a few days. Does anyone have a guide for adjusting the fuel/air mixture? Now Idea which adjustment to even start with or where its located.
February 11, 20179 yr Looking at the front of the car, the adjustment screw is pointed about 45degrees to the passenger side. Almost directly at the distributor. Screw it out to add more fuel. start in small infringements. Like 1/4-1/2 turn and continue until you're satisfied.
February 11, 20179 yr Author Is there an adjustment for when its cold and then when its warm or is it just one adjustment for all? Thank you by the way, your description is very helpful.
February 11, 20179 yr Weber calls it the Idle Air mixture screw but it controls AF for any throttle position besides wide open throttle. Have you tried adjusting the choke? That is usually the problem when a Weber is hard to cold start.
February 11, 20179 yr Author Ah okay. Thank for the replies. I haven't had a chance to go over and play with it yet, tomorrow I get to. While it does starve for fuel on cold starts, I'm pretty sure its not as "powerful" as it used to be (or so to speak). And I noticed it after I had it adjusted so it would pass smog. I bet if we richen it up all will be better. I'll let you knowhow it turns out. Maybe I should make another quick vid so others can see...
February 13, 20179 yr Author Is the adjustment screw a narrow brass flat head screw that sort of juts out all by itself on the passenger side almost where the distributer is? I couldn't take the air cleaner off so I had to guess. Edited February 13, 20179 yr by spicypeanut
