In 1985 my friends and I built a sand rail out of a totalled 1984 Brat. We took a chance and entered the 1986 NORRA BajaMIL (baja1000). We made it past checkpoint #2 a few kilometers outside of Rosario when the brat dropped into a thirty foot deep arroyo (dried creek bed). It was the best fun I had on what started out as a whim. Since then I did a 10yr stint in the military. Earned my kudos in Desert Storm. Started a career in government and now has nearly reached the end of this chapter. Time for me to return to the Baja series. I do have a mandatory two more years before I can retire but nows the time to build my racer. I have spent the last three months ghosting this site. I like the intel here. You folks have excellent ideas. I hope many will enjoy this build and I hope the ideas flow openly. Looking forward to hearing from some of you guys.

Welcome, welcome. Can't wait to see the new iteration of Subaru that you undertake.  Do you have any direction in mind for your project?

Hey welcome to the site. Thx for your service and in all honestly, get to work on the fun stuff. I almost cried when you said a totalled Brat. I have one and with a 2.2T, lifted and lots of mods. Good to have another one who loves what we do.
