Fried fusible link

Featured Replies

Like the title says, I fried my fusible link. I do nlike t have the know-how or tools to repair this one, where can I find on of these things? Please help, this is my DD. 1979 Subaru Brat.

A wrecking yard or at a dealer. If you go the wrecking yard route, just pull one the same size/color. Doesn't have to be from a BRAT. Any GL/Loyale up to 1994 will have the links.

Hm... pulled one but when I reattached it tried to fry again. Pulled it off quick, seems okay. Going to try to replace the voltage regulator next, read somewhere that needs to be replaced at the same time as the alternator. Unless anyone else has an idea.

Wire a parking lamp bulb in place of the link. Go down stream and disconnect things until the lamp goes out.
