Driver Side seat heater issue in my 2008 tribeca

Featured Replies

I need some help!!! while returning from a road trip my driver side seat heater was on but i never pushed the button for it.  That thing is blazing and it's 9in the high 80s to 90 degrees ut side.  what is going on with this thing?

I would disconnect the heater element connector under the seat.

You could also pull a fuse if it's not shared with other, or other necessary, components. Owners Manul in glove box will have a section on fuses and should show which one is for the heated seats.

vsmith63,

Obviously the switch has a direct short, is jammed/welded in the on position, or the wiring from the switch to the heater has a direct short to power. Should be an easy fix to diagnose where the issue is. Broken wires in the seat heater element are the most common issue with seat heaters, but in that case, they won't work at all, or only at a lower heat setting.
