July 30, 20178 yr hey ya'll curious if anyone has converted the pin style wiper arms on any of the older models with the hook style or with something a little more solid feeling? The pins on my 84 wiper arms are pretty worn out and I'd like to upgrade them, any help / advise would be appreciated!
July 30, 20178 yr I haven't personally but I have wondered the same after nearly losing a wiper several times on the freeway. I took a wire bread wrapper and secured through a hole in the blade area to the arm and it has held for a while but I would much rather have a more permanent solution than jerry rigging it.
July 30, 20178 yr I did for my XT and my old GL. Just grab a set of arms from some newer vehichle, subaru legacy or whatever Cut off the end, weld it onto the old EA arm. Paint and reinstall.
