Starlite Posted August 9, 2017 Posted August 9, 2017 (edited) I have this noise from the heater on my 3.0 2007 legacy. Play it loud and you will hear it. https://youtu.be/qlw3ubT2gz0 Edited August 9, 2017 by Starlite
forester2002s Posted August 9, 2017 Posted August 9, 2017 Could be some debris in the heater-fan. Perhaps a dried leaf hitting the vanes of the fan-cage?
Starlite Posted August 9, 2017 Author Posted August 9, 2017 I dont think there is some debrie in the fan . This is something else and when i shut down the car i can hear some strange noise from the heater.
Fairtax4me Posted August 9, 2017 Posted August 9, 2017 One of the mode control actuators is stripped. Could have some debris jammed in the flap that it controls or the flap could have just broken on its own. Common in a lot of American vehicles but haven't heard of it happening very often in Subarus. I can't give specifics on locations but you should be able to find it by looking/listening/feeling for the actuator to clunk. You can partly narrow it down by moving the blend controls and mode controls to see which mode makes it stop. 1
brus brother Posted August 10, 2017 Posted August 10, 2017 agree with @Fairtax. I have the same issue on my 05 OB. Try switching mode controls and you will hear that the noise will stop/change as you switch between modes. Mine is intermittent.
