October 10, 20178 yr I pulled the dash to do a heater core t his weekend, and now I have an air bag light on. I only know of 3 air bag connections, 1 at the center console to the unity and then 1 to each side of the dash. All plugged in. Am i missing something else or is it possible when lowering the steering wheel, the clock spring somehow got messed up.
October 10, 20178 yr It's probably the clockspring. That's the most common to get messed up when pulling a dash. Does the horn work? Read the codes (I'm not sure how on a 95) Check all the connectors that they're good. Edited October 10, 20178 yr by golucky66
October 11, 20178 yr Read the airbag codes. There is a diagnostic connector under the dash behind the steering wheel with pins you can put in to read the codes. It blinks the airbag light for long and short flashes to spell out the code.
October 11, 20178 yr On my 99 and 03 it was a black or gray connector. You have to take the bare leads that are taped to the harness to put into one of the connector pins and it will flash out the codes. Pages from 1999 Legacy_Outback Service Manual.pdf
