Lifting my 1991 Subaru Legacy

Featured Replies

Hey everyone i have been wanting to lift my 1991 subaru legacy so i can get bigger wheels and tires. But saddly i have no idea where to start as this is my first subaru ever. Its all awd and its a 5 speed trying to make it into a little offroader. Any tips or feedback would help. Thanks

Look for up to '04 forester struts/springs which bolt on(minus swapping rear top hats to your stock ones as I recall). Nice lift and good road ride too. I would suggest adding up to half in rear strut top spacer as well. Seems like the front gets lifted more than the rear if you don't.

I used 98 Forester struts/springs on a 95 Legacy. could then easily fit the Forester wheels, too (15s vs 14s)

so, early Forester stuff, or early Outback stuff will give you what you are looking for.

there are plenty of posts about doing this floating around.. a search should yield plenty of info
