My 2010 outback began making a strange noise in the dash right behind the odomiter when I turn off the key. Sounds like its clicking and something is moving. Was not making the noise a few days ago

could be mode or blend door in the HVAC system.

 

maybe try setting the system for defrost or some other modes as a test?

My 2010 Outback does the same thing, I notice it especially when the a/c has been running. It's done it since we got it a few years ago so I never thought much of it. I just assumed it was supposed to.
