Just wondering which way up the EJ shift stay rubberised mount goes onto the underside of the trans tunnel

I have cut both shifter and stay rod down to fit the EA81 and painted her up hammertone silver so it looks a little different

I forgot to take note which way up for the mount though I think the slant as it mated to Impreza GF8 body could give a clue just cut the body up and disposed of it

And I am above it not under for this ask task

So is it meant to be metal plate up or see rubber block up?

One way or another may be best for clearing tailshafts and that may dictate orientation anyway

At this stage not sure if EA82 manual tailshafts works or the Impreza gets 50-52 mm cut out of it

My guess (not that I know much about this stuff) is that IF the rubber block is facing down, then there is a chance of it falling out when it (if ever) gets worn out. I'd bolt it rubber side up 

I was thinking exactly the same but was trying to keep post brief
