check engine light blink:

Featured Replies

A friend of minee have Loyale 1.8 SPFI EA82.

The chack engine light blink 3 times for long time and then 5 times for short time.

Someone can tell me please what's the problem? What that code means?

Thanks, Gal.

The code is for purge control solenoid. Go to page 78 of this PDF for the diagnostic tree:

Most likely, the purge solenoid has burned out. You can use an EGR solenoid or a purge solenoid - you just have to swap plugs on the EGR solenoid. Got any wrecking yards over there? Just look for one that ohms out around 32-40 ohms.

Some one can upload some pictures of that solenoid? and some pictures of the location of the solenoid?

Look to the left of the throttle body. Mounted to the top of the engine will be (left to right) the purge solenoid and the EGR solenoid - they look about the same, two vacuum hoses and a two wire plug going to them, with a little cylindrical filter thingy on the back. Follow the hoses - purge solenoid has a hose going to the canister, and the EGR solenoid has a short hose going down to the EGR valve.
