86 brat cutting out on acceleration

Featured Replies

Hello everyone. I have an 86 brat that has a Weber conversion. I've tried the carb according to instructions this it is idling fine like it is supposed to but whenever I accelerate from stops it cuts out. If you slowly move the throttle it will not cut out but if you hit it fast it cuts out. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

New carb?  Used carb?  Did you replace the fuel filter at the same time?

Sounds like the accelerator pump isn't doing it's job.

The accelerator pump was exactly the problem. I had put in a new diaphragm right before the fuel pump went out last summer and entirely forgot to put the spring back in. It has been over a year sense last I worked on this thing so I far entirely forgotten. Thanks allot for the help she is running great now
