Got a pretty good price on it and its rebuilt by them and sold as "new" even though he said it has technically been rebuilt, so I'm assuming (hoping) that it's pretty legit. It's originally manufactured by Hitachi for Subaru. Seemed like a pretty good bet, so I went with it.

Late 90s 2.2 alternators are about $80 from dealers.  Call or look them up and ask as prices can vary from dealer to dealer.
