97 legacy gt wagon rear wheel bearing trouble

Featured Replies

I just got into another Subaru and got a 97 lgt wagon knowing it needed rear wheel bearings. I got the hub and everything out but cannot for the life of me get the one half of the bearing off the hub and the other half pressed into the housing I decided I’m going to go to pick and pull and get myself a whole new hub assembly and just swap it over like that without having to press a new slave and everything in. The style of the hubs on mine have 4 small Allen screws in the front to remove the whole hub. I can’t find any videos of the same style online. Does anybody know what years are interchangeable? Does it have to be from a gt or can it just be from a legacy?
thanks an advance

Tanner

I think you’ll find those Allen keys are for the abs tone ring, nothing more.

If you can push the hub off the bearing/knuckle then you can push it into the replacement knuckle from the wreckers, I don’t think it will matter which knuckle you use if you keep to the same era of Subaru ;)

Cheers

Bennie
