Reprogram Cruise Control?

Featured Replies

As some of you may have noticed, the cruise control on Subaru's SUCKS.

Specifically, it doesn't "catch" right away, usually losing 5mph or more before it kicks in, then having to accelerate back up to the set speed.

Also, if you're going up a long uphil and the vehicle loses about 10mph, the cruise control cuts out and you have to reset it.

I'm wondering if this is something about which nothing can be done, or if it's possible to reprogram the computer for a more "aggressive" cruise control behavior.

What model/year do you have??

I haven't had this problem with the CC on any of my current or past Soobs.

My CC stopped working. Vaccuum tubes and things ok....I dunno. I hate it. I speed now. :(

Some day it'll get fixed...

Hi

I have a problem also. I would love to learn how to program mine too. Mine catches right away and is right in the speed always but it is too agressive in holding that speed. On the highway on any hill or even an overpass it kicks in and causes the trans to shift into third. It does this more when towing but I would like to reduce the 'attack rate' so that it didnt downshift so fast. I do not need that much accell.
