Car won't open after battery replacement 2019 Forester

Featured Replies

Hi! I have issue with opening car from the distance with OEM key fob. I thought that the problem in battery and do replacement exactly like here https://replacekeyfob.com/2019-subaru-forester . But after change, the car won't open at all. The led indicator is working, but nothing happens. Manual open with key is working. Is some extended reprogramming required after battery change or I have issue with key fob?

Section 11 of your owners manual has show to syncronize the key fob after battery replacement. Here's a copy and paste, the symbols for lock and unlock did not copy.

After the battery is replaced, the transmitter must be synchronized with the remote keyless entry system’s control unit. Press either the “ lock” or unlock“ ” button six times to synchronize the unit

Thank you very much, I already thought I'd have to buy a new fob
