February 16, 200521 yr I'll say it again. When I started recommending them, they were good. Mine is still strong after 4 yrs of hard driving. I'm sorry to all those who followed my recommendation and bought them, only to find out that they were now crap (see above posts on manufacturing sites). That just plain sucks, and I would never suggest them now!

It just goes to show you how all this off shore stuff works. A company builds up a good name and then the bean counters say " we can get these things made in Bumfuk for 90% less and throw our stickers on them and no one will know, just think the money we will make".

Thanks for the info, Craven! Great to have in insider give us the lowdown. I have had both the Accel Superstock and the Pertronix coils go south on me. I will follow your recommendations.

May 17, 200520 yr Old thread, but I thought it would be good to keep all the relevant info in one place.... My Accell 8140 lasted a couple weeks. It still technically functioned, but was sparkin' real weak. The stock coil put it to shame. So yesterday I returned it to AutoZone and got a Blaster 8202. It seems based on the stuff I'm reading these are no better than the Accell! Mine pretty clearly says "made in Mexico" on the package. Thoughts?

Mine pretty clearly says "made in Mexico" on the package.Look up at post 25 within this thread. It plainly says that the 8202 Blaster is made in Mexico. Thats why it says Made in Mexico on your box. :-p Get a Blaster3. Thats whats on meh Brat.. The Blaster3 is listed as "quality" above. Ride on meh bother!
