  1. OK, I started pairing Subarus and snowboards at least 15 years ago. And only now does it become cool?
  2. Rguyver does a nice CNC cut one. I think he's got a few in stock right now. http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/showthread.php?t=77490
  3. Dunno. He said it was kinda rough looking. Well, compared to mine anyways.
  4. Who was in Nelson, BC in the last week or two? One of my buddies just told be today that he saw a lifted rig here with OR plates recently.
  5. I'd show a pic of mine, but some numbnuts took the sticker off and polished the cover. BTW, any ETA on this Andy?
  6. .... please make people understand why I want $1200 brakes on my $1800 car. Seriously, though - nice setup.
  7. They are not the same. In fact, the STI key is different than most Legacy keys, as well. (search NASIOC if you don't believe me). If an STI key works in your EA-82, you locks and ignition switch are all work badly. More power to you, I guess - but usually almost any similar key will open and start the car when they get to that point, in my experience (started my '83 wagon with my dad's VW Golf key, IIRC).
  8. I've got an STI blank on my desk, and a standard blank for our '02 Forester. I'm planning on modding the standard blank and transferring the mods that work to the STI blank. So far, it looks like the STI one is too thick (can't find my vernier calipers right now), and the groove is not wide enough (looks like the groove spacing is pretty close, though. I'll try and get this going, and let you know what I find.
  9. I've been battling the same type issue for awhile. Everything I did seemed to make it a bit better, but it never goes away. I have a few other theories, but you experience helps. Mine's a Loyale SPFI 5 spd. I'm currently leaning towards a spark issue - possibly a bad cap or rotor (both are new, BTW). I've yet to try a replacement, though.
  10. I got mine in 2001. Still working to this day, as far as I know. I guess the fact that I live in an area where the roads have lots of corners, and I did a lot of off-roading might explain it if the cooling was the issue, but I think the real reason was that they switched the manufacture to a different facility, and had poorer procedures and quality control. I believe there was an email or something posted in 2003 or so that explained this. Not even sure if these issues still exist.
  11. I might add that there's a Borla knock-of header on ebay that a lot of people like. Cheap, too.
  12. The 2.2 NA engine hates backpressure, just like any other 4 stroke engine. What it does like is having the exhaust pulses create a good scavenging effect in the pipe, which does not happen at lower RPM's in a 2.5" system.
  13. That was probably the goal. Low backpressure = more power, as long as the pipe is not so big that it only creates a proper scavenging effect at higher RPM's. That being said, I would think a 2.5" exhaust would be a little big for a 2.2l to develop proper exhaust flow at lower RPM's. The cross-sectional area is just too big. I would think a 60mm exhaust would be good on the 2.2 (slightly larger than the 2.25"), based on the fact that most 1.8-2.0 litre N/A engines are happy with 2.25".
  14. In case anyone is wondering why, I believe the reason is that the usmb.net site (now .org) did not start until 2003. Before that, we were on ezboards. (how many of us are left here that remember that?)
  15. +2billion. My donor has A/C, I'd love to see what you did for oiling and how well it works, etc.
  16. Weird. Pretty sure when we discussed this a few weeks back, we looked it up and found it was RR/LF/LR/RF. Now it looked it up in my Chilton's, and it shows LF/RR/RF/LR.
  17. Thanks, s'ko. Now I just need to finish pulling the harness out! (got a good start on things today.)
  18. I went out today and started taking my donor car apart. Got the dash out and a few other things done. Took awhile longer than I figured because the car had been in a front-ender and both airbags were popped, as well as the windshield being smashed and dropping shards of glass inside the car. (No major punctures in me yet!) I'm going to try to get back there Monday (1 hour drive each way) to get more work done on it.
  19. Yah, I second the SJR idea. In my mind, no one of the existing EA-82 lifts is right in all ways (let me know if you want details on this), but at least you know the SJR one has someone standing by it full time. The Ozified one is good, but it doesn't agree with everyone - especially since Patrick is away a lot. I like my AA lift for the most part, but my dealings with them were not exactly 100% painless.
