So, does that mean you still have an ECU and harness?

Now, now. Simmer down son.

kinda late, USMB member BRAT1709 (1968-2005) RIP
Hodaka Rider replied to s'ko's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
I remember the user name, but of course never met him. I hope someone takes the time to try to hunt me down if I disappear from the board for an extended time without notice! -
Other cars/Vehicles we own
Hodaka Rider replied to DJtheGOD's topic in Non Soob Cars and Bikes Discussion
1993 Loyale: 4" lift, 27" SSR's, etc. 2002 Forester "S" Sport: always needs parts 1994 Loyale: glorified parts car. 1973 Hodaka Combat Wombat 125 (70's race M/C) 2001 Yamaha BW's scoot: LeoVince Pipe, C/F reeds, rev limiter removed, modified airbox, etc. -
For such a rare car, I sure see a lot of them! Mostly still on the road, a few of them looking pretty clapped-out. This is in a 'yard, seems they got rid of the rest of the car long ago. I'll see what kind of offer I can make on it. Last time I was there they had an EA-82 D/R had been sitting on shelf for years. They were asking $360, I offered $100 if it was what I wanted. Alas, no neutral switch, so I passed.

I may have a line on an EJ22 from a Legacy Turbo. I would not have access to the vehicle, just the engine and whatever is still attached to it. Is there a cost-effective way to get this thing running as a EA-EJ swap without the harness/ECU? Alternatively, does someone have a harness/ECU for sale?

I don't know about adjusting it, but I believe that the cable input at the speedo head is turned into a pulse signal, which is then used to drive the motor that moves the needle.

I'm working on a magnetic propulsion system to operate in conjunction with my brakes. In a panic stop, the system will throw in full reverse propulsion, bringing the car to a stop in about 10' from 60mph. After you scrape your face off the windshield, you'll be able to carry on, knowing that you've saved another little critter's life. I know, I know, TTIWWOP!

EA-82 4WD linkage ?'s
Hodaka Rider replied to Hodaka Rider's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Kinda what I thought. I'm guessing you kinda need to remove it from underneath too, right? -
17" Wheels on a RX????
Hodaka Rider replied to 2K4 STI's topic in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...
Soob FTW. The SS is nice, but what really kills them for me is the pricks who usually drive them:rolleyes: (not to generalize, I do know ONE nice guy that owns a sweet old RS/SS) -

Sorry, I guess I just thought some people might remember my previous postings on swapping a D/R into my Loyale, the pics of the D/R without linkages, etc. This linkage is from a EA-82 D/R trans, not sure of the year though. -

Bumpers offroad type
Hodaka Rider replied to Scott in Bellingham's topic in Products for your Subaru
OK, that looks better. Still looking for 2" receiver, though, and front and rear, not just front. There's a local aluminum fab place that I was going to talk to about this, too. -

Well, I will eventually be looking to do something like this. Closer to the car, though, and with a 2" receiver. -
So, I have not been able to make it to a 'yard for awhile, but had a friend drop by a few pieces of linkage from his collection. So, can anyone tell me what I'm missing?

I've got the only lifted Soob around here. But there's some in Kelowna (~4hrs away) and some in Van area and the Island (7+hours away).

Off Road Poster? Getcher submissions in soon. Just about ready to roll.
Hodaka Rider replied to ezapar's topic in Off Road
Well, I finally put some more online. http://gallery.mac.com/digeraticomputing#gallery I kinda like this one from camping last week: -
Yah, good points. Most people who see my car are amazed at the clearance! That Toy in the pic is ALWAYS clean when I see it. I promptly went out and got mine a little dirty after I took this pic this evening. Whistler - nope, not mine!
-
You be the judge: He's definitely got more than me overall, but lowest points aren't all that much different! (Minus my front control arms, that is).

You're funny. What makes you think that all of these things have anything to do with where it is repaired? Besides, most of the repairs are done by me, right here at home. Maybe I just imagined that the alternator was dead? Or that the check engine light was on, giving me a knock sensor code? Oh yeah, and the rattling heat shields are because I do my own oil changes. Yeah, and I've driven and worked on enough Hondas to know I don't want one. Plus, working in the Parts/Service dept. of a Honda dealership for about a year and a half showed me that they have not earned their "Super-reliable car" record in my opinion.

So, we've had it a little more than a year now. We traded my wife's '04 Liberty for it, hoping to save some money on gas - which we have. However, we keep having to spend money on other stuff: Alternator: $300+, a few months after we got the car Knock sensor: A little under $100, again within 6 months or so of purchase. Alternator: Yeah, another one. A little over a year after the first. This one had the added joy of a night's stay in a hotel while waiting for parts. Exhaust: rattles abound, and I've recently replaced the flex coupler doughnut and nuts/bolts. More: the TSB for clutch issues (pedal travel when hot) is nagging at me: I've had this problem several times. I'm about 90% sure I need a front O2 sensor. Drivability is weird, I get pinging when I shouldn't, etc. No codes, though. She has been looking longingly at the new Wrangler Rubicon 4dr. I see her side, because who would think that a car with a little more than 100,000KM (60,000miles) would have this much maintenace? Her Liberty (which did not have as many KM's) had nothing more than oil changes for maintenance costs!! What can I do? She is starting to hate this car.

So, is this still a Jeep? I don't see straight axles under there, but I'm pretty sure the owner and everyone who sees it still calls it a Jepp.
-
Well, I suppose I could be wrong. But I've got two Loyales here, both with the sensor in the housing (I could get a pic tomorrow), both with a green body on the sensor (kinda oval shape, not rectangular).
