July 28, 200421 yr Hello every body, I was wondering if the 89 Justy I am looking at is a interference motor or not. While taking it on a test drive the motor quit and when I went to turn it over again it turned over pretty fast. I checked compresion and found that there was none. All Ideas welcome.

While taking it on a test drive the motor quit and when I went to turn it over again it turned over pretty fast. I checked compresion and found that there was none. All Ideas welcome. I have an '88, same motor. Not interference. Probably just broke the timing belt. While replacing, may look at replacing tensioner, etc., too. Mine broke at 205,000 miles. I can make copies of pages of a manual for replacement if you need info.
