aa8jz Posted August 17, 2004 Share Posted August 17, 2004 found drivers side cam busted on 1989 ea 82 xt I just bought. Pulled cam box bolts out and saw obvious heat discolorization. S'pose need to pull motor and do a set of head gaskets. Will cam from ea82 spfi work ok? Lobes way different or close enough to for general service? rick w michigan. GLCraig Posted August 17, 2004 Share Posted August 17, 2004 You should be able to use SPFI cams but you should probably use SPFI cams on top of both head not just the broken side. Also If your XT is a turbo you maybe able to use Carb cams. For 85 and 86 the turbo EA82 used the same Cam as the Carb version Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
