I've got a big scratch on the driver's ,(side), window. It goes from top to bottom and is about an inch wide. I was in Vermont on the week-end,(the land of Subarus),and noticed 2 other Outbacks with the same scratch. It looks like the window rubbed on something inside the door on the way up or down.

Anyone else seen this ?

I got a 97 Legacy GT and have the same scratch running from the top to the bottom. There is a glass guide inside the door that probaly got dust contaminated and acts as sandpaper.

got the same scratch on both of my Imprezas....

 

the guides within the door have "foam" on them.

foam padding gets dirty... window goes up / down and there ya go.

scratches galore....

same thing on my 97 OB - has anyone replaced the "bad" parts and/or tried buffing the windows?

ditto on scratches. All four windows for me.

 

I guess just one of quirks of owning soob.
