i have had my 90 loyale for 3 years now and the ac has never worked (not normally a problem) but now that i am a "ymca executive" i sometimes have to wear dress clothes to events when it is hot. so, to avoid sweating i was going to check on getting the ac fixed. how do i know if it needs coolant or if the compressor is bad. thanks for the help.

is there a ac belt on , does the compressor turn at all ? it might just need recharged, but i would say it has r12 in it , all the old oil and r12 has to taken out ,, and replace all o- rings , switch over to r134 it is much cheaper

the belt is on and it spins.

if your AC has not worked for 3 years you will have to replace the expansion valve and most likely the drier. Add one ounce of oil per item replaced.
