96 Outback 2.2 engine miss

Featured Replies

I have a strange little miss on my outback.

It happens only now and then, under load. I can notice it with the AC is on and going up hills. It is a small miss, but now that I have noticed it, I want to fix it?

The car has 77k on it, factory wires, and possibly older plugs.

I was thinking plugs and wires first?

Any ideas?

I would start with the plugs and look them over, as you replace them, for any unusual signs of wear. Then try the wires it that doesn't help. A weak fuel pump may cause this also.

I would go with plugs and wires... mine needed new plugs and wires at 80k... then again at 160k, so at least it is consistent! Of course, if i kept up on things better.....
