Five lug conversion question

Featured Replies

Can a gen 1 Brat be converted to 5 lug? If so, would I have to get a AWD XT-6 and steal the parts out of it? Kind of curious. I don't recall hearing if anybody has done that. Not sure if it is possible on a gen 1 Brat or not. If it is possible that is the road I am going to take.

there is a guy in Oz that has done a full STi swap into a gen 1 Brat. He has the ful 5-lug conversion done to it but I think one of the things he did was mod the STi crossmember so the control arms would bolt in easier. I did put a set of EA81 vented rotors, control arms and knuckles into a gen 1 wagon. There are a few things different between the EA71 and EA82 suspension. The control arms sit farther forward then the EA71 ones do. Also the struts are 3 bolt pattern compared to the 2 bolt pattern. It can be done but it would take a lot of fab work to do it but the end result might be worth it. The other thing to do is to get the hubs redrilled to a more common lug pattern. Oh and you can also put rear disks on your Brat too...

subaru_styles has done a 5-lug conversion, pm him and im sure he'll answer your questions.
