  1. although this reply may be a few months late, i used glossy black $1 spray paint from home depot. worked nicely. this way i dont wash my car, i just spray more paint on it.
  2. or so we think.... yellowstone could explode at any given moment and take everything out... oh no.... (this was a pointless post)
  3. um, based on that "sausage fest" comment, im thinking bringing a girl would be rather dangerous. like a hot female waltzing thru san quentin. i really wish i could go, and if another SW trip arises i will be sure to ... take it into consideration (girls still take presedence).
  4. call me flaky, but i've decided im not going on the trek. theres a couple reasons for this change of plans including, of course, the original-flavored "my car isnt ready" excuse, as well as the good ol' "you see, there's this girl..." reasoning. either way, girls (esp. this one) takes presedence over a subaru trip any day for me, since im just a sucker like that. I hope you all understand. Have fun in my name, yalls. skeet ps: at least one of you has to take a massive amount of pictures.
  5. Hello yall, i've been not posting for some time now (cept in OT) because I and my roo were going thru some outages. I made the mistake of threatening her with divorce and she got terribly offended and started breaking down. I eventually apologized and brought her back to the good, working status she's always been in. so anyway, jus wanted to say im back in the game, and i have some new plays to bring to the field. alright, here goes. First off, I decided to chuck in about a grand to accomplish at least one thing: make DeDe run PERFECTLY. I know, i know, its near impossible to get a car like mine in the same condition it was when it was new, however, i will attempt it as far as possible. some plans include new tires, new brake pads etc (brakes need work altogether), interior detailing, cv boot replacement, and - since she's leaking from every oraface possible - perhaps replace a few gaskets in the engine. next, im going to enhance my trip-taking entertainmentage by adding in a sound system. i already have a plan for this involving $40 computer speakers and two 120 watt computer subs.
  6. hello, fellow southwesterners. i shall make an eager attempt to make repairs to my car in time for the trek across the great red rocks. in other words... count me in, im going! i have some work to do on my car, but all should be done by leaving time. ill be bringing a friend most likely. I plan on camping wit 'chall and then maybe breaking off on my own to do some exploring on bike (or foot, if we lack room for bikes). methinks my car can do 3-rated trails, however i wont be pushin it. i gots no full-size spare so no craziness for me. if its not too much to ask, could someone scan in a map of the area were camping at? i dont know that area at all and ill be pullin in at night most likely. thanks yall, hope to see lots o peeps there. p.s.: count me out on bringin beer, im underage (duh) and i dont drink anyway. firewood is fine!
  7. thats a novel idea! looks great, too! will be doin that when i chop off my top.
  8. eh? you driving the rabbit?
  9. yesss!!! finally, vegas soobs!!! (hopefully theyre not all wrx's...)
  10. alright, should anyone be able to contact him, tell him i just want my money back. this case is out of my hands now.
  11. not really, but im selling it high dollar and i cant vouch for its reliability since its let me down so far. it does have a new clutch and working a/c however.
  12. ha! tailpipe? im driving on half an exhaust pipe right now theres so many holes in it. well, at least i would be if i was actually driving the car... its sitting in the street across from my house looking all pretty and ready for another haul but alas it has turned gimpy. the rear axles/wheels/brakes/bearings/whatever is making a combination of weird noises, and im going to sell it after i fix it due to money issues. its not like it would be that much money to fix it, but now that ive fixed it up so much from the trashed condition the prev. owner had im broke and have stuff that needs to be paid so..... so i bought a truck for 500 (its okay, i know where its been taken and its still in good cond. + rebuilt tranny) and im using that because im sick of having to open a hatch every time i want to throw something in my vehicle (esp. heavy and/or smelly stuff) and because i dont have to pour more of my money in to get it back to good condition like i did/still have to w/ the soobie. yeah, and thats it. sorry guys, i would really want to go (duh, i started this thread) but w/o a soob it would be pointless. and no, the truck is not 4wd. hope you all have fun w/o me. p.s. if you still wanna invite me ill be happy to tag along in someone elses car.
  13. well, i'm out. car's gone bye-bye. id come with my truck but its just not the same. wish you guys (and gals) a good trip. *sob*

  16. thats beautiful, morgan this is what happens when i try to get stuck: i dont. there are no mud pits in vegas or the surrounding areas. very rarely do we ever see even the slightest sign of h20 in the skies, and every time i do its at work downtown. so anyway, my story. twas a dark, gloomy day when all the sudden BOOM CRASH BANG went the thunder right after my computer screen flickered and died. rain then followed, just daring cars to attempt to withstand the awaiting floods. so i gathered my things (shoes, socks, pants --- wait, just kidding) and booked it home. well, more like floated since its a huge flood zone the whole way there. I dropped off my things, picked up some tools, headed to my friend steve’s house, grabbed some sodas, and headed for the hills. (the hills consists of dumped dirt from construction zones all over the valley – also known as trash alley valley.) after driving around finding no water whatsoever, we located a giant puddle (well, giant to us vegas folk) and decided to have some fun. Steve got the camera out and took some shots as well as some footage of me thrashing around. The first time I went thru I ran into a bush on the side of the pit which got me stuck due to no previous engagement of the 4wd mechanism. Tsk tsk. We pushed it off back into the pit and tried again. I broke a flood because of that damn bush. Got a couple more pics, headed back home, and washed down the little monster. Herrrs sum documentashun fer yalls. see some more in my album. link's in the sig.
  17. yeah, i say im covered in the hook department... notice the dual trihook so i can get six guys at once.
  18. ouch. that is one large, uncomfortable hook. i havent seen your daughter, therefore i cant comment. any pics? (the previous statement was just a joke, do not take offense at anything i say unless it is meant for such. thank you.)
  19. that SEMA show was awesome. i got to drive by it a couple of times (since i work down there) and caught a glimpse of some rock crawling action. Jay Leno was there, by the way.
  20. awesome. glad to see another loy in the dirt. make sure to get the essentials: xtra parts, extinguisher, full size spare, etc. good luck!
  21. thank you, i really hope things arent too bad for him.
  22. thanks. so thats what the 'big D' is... at least i have a heads up now.
