Rear diff. hanger

Featured Replies

I have a question about removing the bushings/bumpers from my rear diff. hanger. I want to get it welded so it wont bend but the rubber bushings/ bumpers have to come out first. i have beat on it with a pipe on the metal ring hoping that it would drop out but it doesnt seem to move at all. does anybody know how to take them out.

thanks

burn them out. the diff hanger and front diff mount bushings are not removable because they are bonded to the metal.

Cut the ends with bushings off and weld them onto your custom hanger bar. There are poly bushings available that'll work if you chose to burn out the old ones. Look on Nissan sites to find them or maybe on Ebay.

Or use the diff hanger off the front diff of a Nissan truck. It'll bolt up to your R160 and has bushings there near the diff, not out on the ends of the bar.

I'm not really sure i want to burn them out some people are saying that they won't melt.

But if they do melt once they get welded i need to know how to replace them.

if they dont come out how do you put new ones in once they are burnt out ?????

im using the stock hanger bar. im just going to weld a bent piece of metal from one bushing to the other. make a kinda T beam. ;)
