I just pulled one off of my 90 wagon, it's the complete directional, headlight, and wiper switch on the column. It looks just like the one on my mothers' 2000 outback limited. Is it the same? What do these things usually cost?

Call your local dealership's parts department and ask them about the model interchangeability. That's the best way to be sure. If your local dealer isn't friendly, call the good folks at Liberty Subaru (that's where I buy all my parts, mail-order). Very helpful team and equally knowledgeable.

 

That's going to be one expensive switch!

They are not the same, and not only because of the clockspring (the '00 has an airbag and the '90 doesn't). Wiper and lighting switches and their wiring are different.
