96 OBW, timing belt replacement

Featured Replies

Looking for links or info on timing belt replacement in a 96 2.5 DOHC OBW. I've done a number of mid-late 80s 1.8 timing belts, but not the DOHC engine. I would also like to do any seals that should be done at that time. Any tips or info would be much appreciated.

I also need a new front accessory (crank) pulley. Advcanced thanks for any help locating one.

Anyone have a phone number for S-Wings in CO?

The other skip did a really nice DIY series on this if I recall correctly.

When I click this link, the page loading bar at the bottom of IE6.0 fills about half way, then I get the "page can not be found" error message. Would someone else try the link for me? Could there be a problem with the link above or if this another example of just how nice this POS Direcway satellight internet connection is?

I don't know why the link isn't working for you. Maybe this will get you to the article:

(1) Go to http://endwrench.com/main.php?smPID=HTML::home.html

(2) Select Archives

(3) When the Archives screen appears go to the System Search portion & scroll down to select "Engine Mechanical" and then click on "Show System(s)"

(4) When the listing of articles appears scroll down to the Fall 2000 article entitle "2.5 Liter Twin Cam Timing Belt Replacement"

Hope that works,

Bill

Not too much of a mystery. The new link is doing the same thing. It probably has to do with this "somwhat of an internet connection" that I pay DWay for each month. I did get the link to open and now am waiting for the archives page to open. About 2 min for each page to open. Maybe their servers are are being taxed rather heavy today or it's just my DWay testing my patience again.

I'll keep trying to get to that info. Thanks for the help.

Got it. THANKS!

Due to my slow broadband sat internet connection, I will have to go back there when more time and look at the rest of the info there. Looks like a great source for help.

Thanks again,

Dale
