Pics of complete Spyder intake

Featured Replies

Does anyone have good pictures of a complete Spyder intake, Turbo or not? I can't seem to find anything.

i never get peepl to answer specific questions anymore, its all about peepls planned mods lists lately. hard to get good info from the peepl who know, because they dont filter through all the crap to find the few posts that reely need good hands on info.

just my observations.

Yeah, I know. Well, it's a little upsetting. I was really following this until last year when I got a little fed up with things and kind of dropped off the face of the earth for a while. Now I'm back and ready to have some fun, especially since these guys have figured out EDIS and custom fuel management.

Anyhow, the junk yard that is selling me the intake sent me pictures and I think I'm getting eveything I need to start. Not sure about some of it, but I'll find out when I get it this weekend.

keith,

You want everything!!!! This includes the spider plenum, the two intake blocks and the water pipe, get the harness injectors and fuel rails as well. Basically you remove 3 bolts from each side and remove the whole thing as a unit from the heads up.

If you post the pics the JY sent, I will tell you if you've got it all.

This is what they are sending me. It' doesn't include the water pipe, but I think I can get that. The most important part was the intake and the injector mounts which I did not understand were seperate until I got the pictures from the JY. That was why I was looking for the pics initially.

yes, the water pipe is crucial. It would really simplify the swap if you got all the vac and fuel lines and the harness from the intake as well. If you can't get all those bits, you'll have to fab up fuel rails and customize the harness you have. not the easiest way to go.... even with all the parts, there's still some mods you'll need to do to make it work

Oh, and if you can get someone to bead-blast it, it'll look real nifty!!

Well, the good thing is that I've got two "extra" normal intake manifolds to work with. The Fuel rails shouldn't be to bad, but I guess I didn't think about the vaccum lines. Hopefully That won't be too bad having a running motor to look at.

Keith

I'm not using any of the vac lines on my set up. I have a single vac advance disty and can get the manifold or t-body vac that I need from the manifold itself.

The other thing that is different and very important is the aux air valve. It is attached to the water pipe and unique to the spider as far as I know. I believe it takes the place of the do-dad on top of the thermostat on the standard MPFI intake. It is a bosch part that is used by a number of other automakers so it could be had at a JY if you know what you're looking for...
